mhi Series

The MHI Series Branch Piping Kit — heavier-gauge copper, longer engagement zones, and a 5.2 MPa pressure guarantee, engineered for VRF systems where a callback isn’t an option

“The Branch Joint Built for Systems That Can't Afford to Fail.”

The MHI Series is manufactured to a tolerance. 227 Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. offers MHI Series VRF Refrigerant Branch Piping Kits for accurate installation, effective refrigerant distribution and reliable long term performance – the type of joint a consultant demands when the project really can’t afford a leak three floors up. Each kit has two intentionally enlarged copper Y joints. That is, they have thicker copper walls than a typical fitting, with a longer engagement zone at each brazed connection. That little additional length isn’t for looks, it means greater surface area for the braze to latch onto, which increases mechanical strength and offers refrigerant a smoother passage through the split, with significantly less internal turbulence where flow has to change direction. The multi-step setup then conducts the matching work, stepping down through the exact pipe sizes a project needs for, so alignment stays accurate and installation works faster without an adapter fitting bridging the gap.

All kits come with fire grade XLPE or Armaflex Class O NBR insulation – two separate systems, not an alternative with a different name. Fire-grade XLPE is preferred for its thermal retention and ability to resist combustion. Class O NBR gets the nod for its flexibility, moisture resistance and compliance with tough fire, smoke and toxicity ratings. So the choice depends on which safety and performance profile a particular project actually needs. Either choice keeps condensation off the copper — a joint that sweats is a joint already losing the case against corrosion — and keeps refrigerant temperature stable enough that the system is not quietly bleeding efficiency zone by zone. But none of this counts until the joint has been pressure tested: every MHI Series unit is hydro-tested at 5.2 MPa, or roughly 754 psi, well above normal operating levels, so a leak-free seal isn’t just a line on a spec sheet — it’s a number this Series has already been tested against, one joint at a time, for reliable, safe operation in demanding commercial and residential VRF installations.

Why 227 Enterprise

MHI Series joints are manufactured from heavier gauge copper and have longer engagement zones – an intentional design feature that gives more strength, durability and a smoother refrigerant flow channel than typical fittings are satisfied with. The same logic that applies to everything else about the Series: available in premium Fire-Grade XLPE or Class O NBR insulation to suit diverse project requirements, built to a universal design that drops into major OEM pipe-size conventions, and backed by 100% pressure testing at 5.2 MPa rather than a spot-checked sample. That combo takes away the uncertainty a contractor normally would have to bring to installation and eliminates the chance of leaks before the system is ever turned on. 227 Enterprise is a manufacturer, not a reseller re-labeling generic parts. We design, engineer and manufacture the MHI Series in-house, according to CE, RoHS and AS 4041 pressure-piping standards along the way. Which means a proven, reliable solution for consultants and contractors working on complex VRF systems, and one less thing to worry about on-site.

Product Faqs

What is the main function of the MHI Series Branch Piping Kit?

The MHI Series kit splits the refrigerant flow – commonly R410A – from one outdoor unit to several indoor units in a VRF system. It's the center of the piping network for dependable multi-zone climate management in commercial buildings and complex residential developments, while yet maintaining the distribution balanced across every branch.

Is it possible to use MHI Series kits with other manufacturers’ VRF systems?

Yes. The multi-step copper Y-joints are designed to a universal profile which matches most OEM pipe size conventions. The design is open-ended, so a contractor needs to stock less and doesn’t have to keep brand-specific parts for multi-brand jobs.

What’s the benefit of the heavier gauge, lengthier construction?

The thicker copper walls and longer engagement zone reduce turbulence within and give the refrigerant a smoother passage through the joint. They also improve the brazing surface area . This results in a stronger mechanical connection that stands up better to high pressures and repeated temperature cycling . This means less likelihood of failure during the life of the system

What is the difference between Fire-Grade XLPE and Class O NBR insulation?

Fire-Grade XLPE has good heat retention and fire retardant qualities resisting combustion. Class O NBR is more flexible and easier to install, is moisture resistant and passes stringent fire, smoke and toxicity criteria. What to specify, depends on safety, performance and application needs of the project.

How does 227 Enterprise make sure that every single joint is 100% leak-proof?

Each copper joint is hydrotested to 5.2 MPa (about 754 psi) significantly in excess of normal operating pressure. That means every seal is airtight, before the joint ever leaves the factory, not just the ones that happen to be sampled from each batch.
