Copper Strainers

227 Enterprise Copper Strainers are precision-engineered to provide cleaner refrigerant circulation, protect vital components, and meet OEM reliability standards.

“First Line of Defense for every VRF System.”

Every HVAC and refrigeration system picks up debris over time — metal shavings, solder bits, dirt, you name it. If that stuff reaches your compressor or expansion valve, you’ve got a real problem. Our copper strainers sit in the line, catch what shouldn’t be there, and let clean refrigerant pass through without choking the flow. We build each one from a single-piece, high-quality copper body paired with a 100-120 mesh stainless steel filter — fine enough to trap the particles that cause damage, open enough to keep pressure drop low and refrigerant moving the way it should.
They come in OD sizes from 5/8″ to 2″, with adjustable internal diameters and wall thicknesses from 1 mm to 2.5 mm depending on what your application needs. Every single unit gets leak tested before it leaves our facility — no sampling, no shortcuts. They’re fully RoHS compliant, and whether you’re running VRF/VRV systems, heat pumps, air conditioning, or commercial refrigeration, they do their job quietly and consistently. That’s all you really need from a strainer, and it’s exactly what we built them to do.

Why 227 Enterprise

When filtration works, nobody thinks about it. When it doesn’t, you’re dealing with damaged compressors, clogged valves, and service calls that eat into everyone’s budget. That’s why we don’t cut corners. Every copper strainer we make uses refrigeration-grade copper paired with high-efficiency stainless steel mesh that catches what needs catching without strangling the flow. Pressure drop stays low, refrigerant stays clean, and the components downstream stay protected.
Every strainer we ship gets leak tested — not a random sample, every single one. Dimensions get checked, quality gets inspected, and if you need something built to a specific OEM drawing, we’ll do that too. OEMs and customers in over 35+ countries trust us to get it right, whether it’s going into a VRF system in Tokyo or a rooftop unit in Riyadh.

Product Faqs

Why does an HVAC&R system even need a copper strainer?

Because refrigerant lines pick up junk — metal shavings from manufacturing, brazing residue, dirt that works its way in during installation or service. If any of that reaches the compressor or expansion valve, it can cause serious damage. A strainer catches it before it gets there. It's a straightforward part that does a critical job: keep the refrigerant clean so everything downstream runs the way it should.

What kinds of systems are these designed for?

Pretty much anything in the HVAC&R world. VRF and VRV systems, commercial air conditioning, heat pumps, refrigeration equipment — if it circulates refrigerant and needs clean flow, our strainers fit right in. We've supplied them for all of these and can help figure out what works best for your particular setup.

What's the filter made of, and how fine is it?

The body is refrigeration-grade copper, and the filter screen inside is stainless steel rated at 100 to 120 mesh. That's fine enough to trap the particles that cause real problems, but open enough that it won't choke refrigerant flow or create a big pressure drop. It's a balance, and we've dialed it in over a lot of production runs.

Can you build them to custom specs?

That's a big part of our business. We make strainers in a range of standard sizes, but if you need a specific inlet/outlet configuration, a non-standard dimension, or something designed to match an OEM drawing, we handle that. Just send us the technical requirements and we'll work with you on it.

What kind of quality checks do these go through?

Every copper strainer gets 100% leak tested — no exceptions. On top of that, we do dimensional checks and visual inspections on every unit. Everything is RoHS compliant and manufactured to the quality standards that OEMs around the world expect from us. We didn't build our reputation by letting borderline parts out the door, and we don't plan to start.
